| How do you protect yourself against the falling dollar? For the majority of the poor, there isn't much that they can do about it. But for those who have some capital, investing in gold and silver stocks is worth looking into. I know the price of gold has soared to about 3-4 times the price 10 years ago. I wish I had bought more of it or invested in it 10 years ago when it was still cheaper. |
| There are a lot of local and foreign investors who were disappointed with the status of the dollar rate. No surprise because the previous administration wasn't that a big help for many people to cover their expenses in the economy and society. But then again, it is true that we should protect ourselves from the falling dollar with gold and silver. Let's keep updated of the progress in the gold stocks. |
| I know that this is very saddening. Yes, we have noticed how dollar is slowly fluctuating. If only time will be turned back again when everything else was still cheap and affordable. We can't deny the fact that there were administration that were labeled as corrupt and advantageous of the situation or his position. I hope the everything gets better. Thank you so much and have a great day to all! |
| The fluctuating US Dollar is actually one of the primary problems of all freelance online workers and those whose salaries are Dollar-based. You get paid less for putting in the same efforts. This makes transacting overseas less attractive to investors. If the U.S. is really the super country that it claims, it should be able to do something to save its own currency and save online freelance workers as well. |
| "Reversed Cycle"
Let's look deeper into the logic:1) When the dollar goes DOWN an overseas worker "makes" less for the same effort. 2) When the dollar goes UP an overseas worker "makes" more for the same effort. In situation #1 the worker tends to complain. The worker may even ask for a page increase. In situation #2 the worker is happy, doesn't complain, and certainly doesn't ask for a pay decrease. Which situation is fair and unfair? Does the answer depend on whether you are the worker or the business? What about local wages? If the overseas worker instead of working for a company in the USA worked for a local company in their own country, would the changes in the dollar effect their pay or earnings? Would the effort they spend working result in a higher or lower earning for them? I think in many cases the results for the effort would be much less for a local job. Does that affect the sense of fairness? |
